The banking sector in Singapore includes over 100 commercial banks, 29 merchant banks and 40 representative offices of foreign banks. The three largest banks (DBS Group, Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation and United Overseas Bank) hold combined total assets of approximately US$1 trillion and employ over 80,000 people.
